THE GRAIL SERIF

THE GRAIL's serif on the same skeleton, widths and spacing, so sans and serif change places without a line moving. The alphabet was chosen by measurement: the engine drew every candidate form of the confusable letters (a g l i q d y z, I J Q R Z, 0 1 7), rendered them the size the eye sees nine-point type, blurred as the eye blurs them, and searched every combination for the set with the largest minimum distance between any two characters, capitals, lowercase and figures together. The winning forms are THE GRAIL; the runners-up stay in the font as stylistic sets. On PHI's proportions and Tracy's spacing, with true small capitals, tabular, proportional, raised and lowered figures, currency, arrows, mathematical and legal signs, box drawing, check boxes and marks, Greek capitals and Central European accents. Six styles.

Styles: Light, Regular, Regular Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, Light Italic. Files: TTF for Mac, PC and websites. Commercial use is included in every licence.
