DOT MEASURE

The great Arabic calligraphers measured every letter in dots of the pen: so many dots tall, with every curve fitted to one circle. Applied to Latin: a monoline sans whose three weights are exact dot counts, the capital nine, seven or five dots of the pen high, every round a true circle.
